Always reliable, great consistency

This was my third time ordering from Nixsensor, this time I got the Nix Print Pro. Their devices are always top-notch, just like my previous Nix Pro 2. The shipping was fast again, and the product arrived well-packaged. I appreciate that I know exactly what to expect from them every time.

Got my new Spectro 2, it's cool

Just got the Nix Spectro 2 and it's pretty neat. I needed something for my textile work and this seems to do the trick. Setup was easy, and the readings felt accurate enough for what I do. No complaints really, it just works. Happy with it.

Good value for a first purchase

I bought the Nix Mini 3 during a spring sale, hoping to save a bit. The discount wasn't huge, but every bit helps. It felt like a solid investment for the price, especially considering what other color tools cost. Definitely worth it for my home projects.

Solid device, minor app issues

I purchased the Nix Spectro L for my studio work. The hardware itself is fantastic and really accurate, making my color matching much easier. However, I did notice the Nix Spectro App crashed once or twice when I was trying to save a custom palette, which was a bit annoying. Delivery took about 5 days to reach Denver, which was fine. Overall, it's a great tool, but the app could use a small stability update.

Does anyone know if Nix Mini 3 can scan on textured surfaces, like a stucco wall or fabric?

J June M. 2 months ago
It's pretty good, actually. I've used my Mini 3 on textured wallpaper and some rough fabrics for interior design projects. You just gotta make sure it's flat against the surface as much as possible.

I've had decent results on some mildly textured stuff. Really rough or uneven surfaces can be tricky for any device like this, but for most common textures, it handles it fine afaik.

Just curious about the apps. Is there a subscription fee for the Nix apps once you buy a device?

L Laura 2 months ago
Naw, not for the basic ones. The Nix Toolkit and some of the other specific ones are free with the device. I think there might be a separate subscription for like, the Nix Cloud or enterprise stuff, but not for just using the device apps.

You get access to a lot of the apps for free. I think the cloud stuff or SDK might be extra, but just for using the device to scan colors, you're good.

Thinking about getting a Nix device for my paint business, but comparing it to some others. How does it stack up against an X-Rite?

F Faith Nguyen 2 months ago
I've used both. Nix is more portable and easier to use on the go. X-Rite can be more robust for some industrial stuff, but for paint matching, the Nix is super accurate and integrates well with paint brands.

Depends what you need. My buddy has an X-Rite but prefers his Nix Mini 3 for client visits. He said the app is way better and it's less clunky to carry around.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows if Nix Sensor does a Black Friday sale? Been eyeing the Mini 3 for a bit.

W Wendy 2 months ago
Yeah they usually do! I got my Pro 2 during their Black Friday sale a couple years ago. Was a pretty decent discount.

They definitely have sales around then, also Cyber Monday. Keep an eye on their site and sign up for their emails, that's how I heard about the last one.
